Turboweekend release a wonderful new single

The acclaimed live phenomenon will play just two headline shows in 2026, at Forum in Copenhagen and ACC in Aarhus. The arena shows cement Turboweekend’s comeback, with more new music also on the way.

The single ‘Verden Er Vidunderlig’ is released on Friday 21 November. Tickets on sale at kin.dk/turboweekend.

Almost 20 years after releasing one of the most groundbreaking and influential debut singles in Danish rock, Turboweekend sound more fired up and relevant than ever.

“‘The world is wonderful’ is certainly a claim that can be questioned in the times we live in. But even when it is at its most frightening, rotten and impossible, there is almost always a light and a hope somewhere that you can reach for. Our song ‘Verden Er Vidunderlig’ is about accepting the absurd as a cornerstone of a life that is only on loan. So put on your finest optimistic hat and make the best, biggest and most beautiful thing you can of it,” says lead singer Silas Bjerregaard.

Turboweekend are doing exactly that. In spring, the trio - known for hits including ‘Into You’, ‘After Hours’, ‘Trouble Is’, ‘On My Side’, ‘Miles and Miles’ and many more - returned after a ten-year break from releasing music, immediately igniting a new musical spark with the disco inferno ‘Under Overfladen’. The revival was cemented that spring when Turboweekend set out on their first tour in more than six years. Tickets sold in record time, four shows became twelve, and glowing reviews followed from Soundvenue, Politiken, Jyllands-Posten and GAFFA.

After a major summer of live performances, from NorthSide to Heartland, Smukfest and Fredagsrock in Tivoli, Turboweekend can now reveal the biggest shows of their career: Forum and ACC in 2026.

“This year, the audience have carried us on their shoulders, like an old friend returning home from a long journey. And just as new music has emerged from a shared energy between the three of us, our love of playing live has only grown through meeting the people out there,” says bassist Morten Køie. Drummer Martin Øhlers concludes: “In 2026, it will be 20 years since our debut. Now we are taking a new step together, lifting one another up, and we promise that the concerts in Aarhus and Copenhagen will be Turboweekend live as never before.”
