For more than two decades, Dorthe Gerlach’s distinctive voice has moved audiences across Denmark, both in English as one half of the acclaimed country-pop duo Hush and in Danish as a solo artist.

Dorthe Gerlach is a storyteller. Her observations are sharp and her tone affectionate as she unfolds her Danish songs, with stories ranging from the Vejle Fjord Bridge to the plastic swan boats on Copenhagen’s Peblinge Lake. From Inger’s belongings in an abandoned flat in Randers to the bright white clogs at the hospital and the flattened hedgehog on her childhood route to school in Vendsyssel.

In addition to her beautiful voice, Dorthe is known for generously sharing both the sorrows and joys of life at her concerts, making audiences laugh and cry along the way.

She has carved out a place entirely her own on the Danish music scene and is currently working on new songs in Danish. In 2015, she released the album Natlys, followed by the EP Krigerhjerte in 2021, featuring songs such as Plastiksvanebåd and Montebello.
