Kwamie Liv has captivated audiences since her debut in 2014, through her music and, in particular, a voice that has repeatedly lit up the musical landscape in Denmark and internationally.
It was therefore a welcome surprise when Kwamie Liv returned last Friday with ‘No one Owns the Sunrise’ after more than five years without a release. The single is now followed by her first concerts since 2022.
“I am so excited to get out and play live again. To look people in the eye, feel that closeness and the way we embrace one another when we are in the same room sharing the songs. I have really enjoyed being able to immerse myself in art, creating and songwriting, and it is an enormous release to send ‘No one Owns the Sunrise’ out into the world. There is so much new to share and so much I want to try out live, and I am looking forward to bringing even more new music,” says Kwamie Liv.
Throughout her career, Kwamie Liv has followed her own path. From acclaimed indie darling with international appeal to performances everywhere from Roskilde Festival to Denmark’s biggest concert halls, songs including ‘New Boo’, ‘Blasé’, ‘17’ and ‘All the Other Boys’ have found success on radio and streaming platforms. Her interpretation of Kim Larsen’s classic ‘Pianomand’ brought her a major breakthrough with the wider Danish public. She has also appeared on the music programme Toppen Af Poppen and as a judge on X Factor.
