Juleshowet with Burhan G & the Danish Chamber Orchestra returns in 2025
A true musical Christmas tradition returns this year as Burhan G tours Denmark for the fifth time with the country’s finest symphonic orchestra.
Juleshowet with Burhan G and the Danish Chamber Orchestra is a musical journey for all ages into December’s familiar melodies, songs and hymns. In 2019, Burhan G first brought the magic of this musical Christmas tale to beautiful concert halls across Denmark. With another 14 concerts announced this year, Juleshowet has become a genuine tradition.
“I am personally deeply grateful to be part of such a strong and beautiful Christmas tradition as the concerts with the Danish Chamber Orchestra have become between the audience and me. Christmas is a fairy tale. A familiar but also a new story that, year after year and throughout our lives, we continue writing with those we love and care about. We will do that again in December, and I am already looking forward to it,” says Burhan G.
The magic of Christmas finds us when we are young. It found Burhan as a child, wearing his freshly ironed sailor outfit and singing in Christmas with his friends in the Copenhagen Boys’ Choir. It also found him at home in front of the television, where, like every other child, he sat glued to the screen hoping Nissebanden would make it, singing along to all the Christmas television songs.
In 2017, Burhan G had the honour of providing music for a Christmas television series himself, writing and singing ‘Tinka’ with Frida Brygmann. Since then, ‘Tinka’ has become a national favourite and welcomed Christmas once again when, for the sixth year, it reached number one on Spotify on 1 December, now with triple-platinum status. ‘Tinka’ also appears on the 2019 album ‘Et Barn Af Jul’, a collection beautifully interpreting the season’s music, from classic evergreens to hymns, original compositions and Christmas television songs. Over time, Burhan’s voice has become the sound of a Danish Christmas.
The music, magic, childhood dreams, nostalgia and new Christmas adventures will accompany Burhan G to the biggest stages again this year, as he joins the full Danish Chamber Orchestra to create another incomparable Christmas show in 2025.
