Hej Matematik return with ‘Soundtracket Til Vores Ungdom’
2026 is at the door, but it is Hej Matematik standing outside knocking! They arrive with the year’s final pop explosion, a long-awaited comeback and the ultimate nostalgia anthem ahead of major shows in March.
‘Soundtracket Til Vores Ungdom’ is released on 5 December.
It came as a shock when they left us…
But although it has been ten years since we last heard new music from Hej Matematik, they have never really been gone. Music will always be there, living its own life inside us all, and that is precisely the feeling Søren and Nicolaj Rasted amplify with ‘Soundtracket Til Vores Ungdom’.
“Everyone remembers their first kiss, falling in love and a broken heart. The parties with friends and the moments you created and shared in a kind of eternal little universe. Because music came with those experiences: the words and notes that settle inside us and can instantly take us back to a youth that inevitably helped shape who we became and who we are today,” say Søren and Nicolaj Rasted.
On that note, Hej Matematik deliver a brand-new single to pop fans across Denmark. ‘Soundtracket Til Vores Ungdom’ is a tribute and a salute to some of the biggest artists of the 1980s and 1990s, creatively built around classic lyrical fragments from no fewer than 35 songs. It becomes another addition to the two Rasteds’ hit-filled catalogue.
They broke through in the late 2000s wearing black-and-white suits, with refreshingly understated self-deprecation and humour that spread to audiences and fans across the country. Their debut album ‘Vi Burde Ses Noget Mere’ went platinum with singles ‘Gymnastik’, ‘Centerpubben’ and, of course, the double-platinum hit ‘Walkmand’. Their second album, ‘Alt Går Op i 6’, was equally successful, featuring the legendary ‘Party i Provinsen’.
The party returns in March when Hej Matematik visit K.B. Hallen in Copenhagen, Aalborg Kongres Center and ACC in Aarhus. More new music is also on the way from the ever-unpredictable duo.
