Gerlach & Rosendahl on a late-summer tour in 2024

Gerlach & Rosendahl on a late-summer tour in 2024

Two of Denmark’s greatest voices of the past two decades celebrate a very special sisterly bond in Danish music as Dorthe Gerlach and Pernille Rosendahl escape together and head out on a series of acoustic concerts.

“This really is a labour of love: a collaboration born from our meeting in music, our shared creativity and our desire to create. But above all, it is a friendship that is explosively fun and uncomplicated. Like two sisters, we are escaping everything sensible, and we will see where the music and friendship take us together this time,” says Pernille Rosendahl.

Both broke through in the 2000s: one fronting one of Denmark’s most colourful and distinctive rock bands, Swan Lee, while the other captivated Danish audiences with acclaimed country pop in the duo Hush. In many ways, they are very different women, yet cut from the same cloth. Almost simultaneously, Gerlach and Rosendahl also debuted with songs of their own, each releasing a strong solo album in the mid-2010s.

Both Gerlach and Rosendahl have appeared with great success on the music programme Toppen af Poppen, but they truly found one another on tour with the Danish Chamber Orchestra. They embark on new adventures with deep respect and affection for one another’s musicianship and voices.

“I have always had enormous respect for Pernille’s irrepressible drive and abundance of ideas. And I have always loved her voice, even when she snatched the Danish Female Singer of the Year award from under my nose at the Danish Music Awards all those years ago. But I look back and smile. Here we are now, so many years later, ready to embrace one another’s worlds. I am looking forward to that, because something wonderful happens when we women have each other’s backs, and I am immensely proud to sing with Pernille,” says Dorthe Gerlach.

The stage is set for very special late-summer evenings in the spirit of sisterhood with Gerlach & Rosendahl, with stories to tell, their own songs interpreted as never before and new musical paths to explore.
