For the third year running: Gerlach & Rosendahl tour the Danish late summer

What began as a special friendship and a musical labour of love between Dorthe Gerlach and Pernille Rosendahl has become a major draw and an established tradition for curious concertgoers across Denmark in summer. In 2026, Gerlach & Rosendahl will embark on their late-summer tour together for the third consecutive year.

They set off when summer is at its height, as it moves towards the golden hour, when closeness and calm settle in. It is also when evenings are at their warmest and the long nights invite stories, celebration and laughter.

In other words, there is room for everything when two of Denmark’s most distinctive voices of the past 25 years share a stage. Musical sisters Dorthe Gerlach and Pernille Rosendahl will do so again this year, enriching the late summer with songs from their own catalogues and their musical interpretations.

“Of course we are going out again this year! Our late-summer tour together is a breathing space I look forward to, and it is wonderful that so many people have embraced our shared project and are part of it year after year,” begins Dorthe Gerlach, continuing:

“Summer is the most sensory season, and Pernille and I have wanted to create an alternative to the usual musical offerings. Don’t get me wrong: we have a huge party together, but there is also room for the stories and the quiet songs. I really like that softness and closeness we have with the audience. And when it happens in some of the country’s most magical summer locations, everything comes together.”

When Gerlach & Rosendahl head out this summer, they will visit venues as varied as Egeskov Slot, CLAY in Middelfart, 18b Harboøre, Gårdhaven in Præstø and Glassalen in Tivoli, Copenhagen. The itinerary features carefully chosen places across Denmark where the surroundings, nature and history contribute to the complete concert experience.

With so much experience and personality, and a sonic dynamic ranging from rock and darkness to light and folky pop, one might imagine that Gerlach & Rosendahl’s concerts are divided into solo performances. In fact, the two remain on stage together from the first chord to the last line. They are also joined on tour by their creative collaborators Michael Hartmann and Mads Wegner.

“When you think about how different our voices are, you might wonder: does it actually sound good when they sing together? But when we stand on stage and sing, something very special happens. It is as though our voices somehow create a third thing. A little like yin and yang, where contrasts do not get in each other’s way but allow the whole to grow. One makes the other stand out more clearly, and in that meeting something emerges that neither of us could create alone. That is what I love about singing with Dorthe. The magic that happens between us,” says Pernille Rosendahl.
