His songwriting is the sound of rebellious overdrive in a teenager’s bedroom, the memory of falling in love for the first time and a solid rock through a midlife crisis. Few songwriters get to create soundtracks to life. But that is exactly what Tim Christensen has done time and again throughout a career in Danish music now spanning more than 30 years.

Now, for the first time, Tim Christensen brings entirely new harmonies and moods to his impressive treasury of songs as he visits concert halls across Denmark with the full Danish Chamber Orchestra.

“Something magical happens when opposites meet. When a songwriter’s melodies are taken on a new journey by the vulnerability or strength of other instruments and musicians, a new stage is set for a song’s themes or atmosphere. That is the essence of symphony, and for me it is particularly magical when that harmony arises between rock and classical music. So it will be very special to travel around the country with the Danish Chamber Orchestra and rediscover my own songs together with them, live in front of an audience,” says Tim Christensen.

The Danish Chamber Orchestra shares his enthusiasm. Director Andreas Vetö says:

The spring 2025 concerts are therefore a rare opportunity to experience Tim Christensen’s exceptional songwriting alongside Denmark’s finest classical musicians.

Tim Christensen made his solo debut with ‘Secrets On Parade’ in 2000, led by the breakthrough hit ‘Love Is A Matter Of…’, revealing a new musical direction for an artist who had long since written himself into Danish music history as the frontman of the country’s biggest rock success of the 1990s, Dizzy Mizz Lizzy. ‘Whispering at the Top of My Lungs’, ‘Superior’, ‘Surprise Me’ and, not least, ‘Right Next to the Right One’ are major hits from four bestselling solo albums by Tim Christensen, who returned to the microphone with Dizzy Mizz Lizzy in the mid-2010s, touring sold-out venues and topping the album charts.

Last year, Tim Christensen marked the 20th anniversary of one of his major works by taking ‘Honeyburst’ and his trusted live band The Damn Crystals on a tour praised by both GAFFA and Politiken.
