Kira Skov

For more than two decades Kira Skov has been among the most distinctive voices on the Danish music scene. Throughout her career, she has insisted on letting music reflect life in all its loss, longing and transformation. From her breakthrough with Kira & The Kindred Spirits to an expansive and exploratory solo catalogue, she has created a body of work full of strong releases and collaborations that cross genres and generations. Her voice holds both fragility and strength, which all blends to beautifully together when she takes the stage.

Skovs concerts are raw, intimate and emotionally charged, whether on major stages or in churches, clubs and festivals across Denmark and abroad. Each show becomes a living reinterpretation, fuelled by her presence and the dynamic energy of her band.

In 2025, she returns with the album What Ties Us Together – Will Keep Us Apart, developed in close collaboration with the new DR drama series Generationer. The album delves into family, inheritance, and the stories that shape us. Produced together with her partner Silas Tinglef and featuring contributions from Maria Jagd, Anders Trentemøller and Ned Ferm, the result is a mature, melodic and deeply personal work that bridges the intimate and the universal.

The album is the latest chapter in a career that includes collaborations with John Parish, Bonnie "Prince" Billy and Mark Lanegan, as well as award-winning releases like The Echo of You, Spirit Tree and I nat bliver vi gamle.

With a rare artistic consistency and emotional range, Kira Skov remains one of the most vital and resonant voices in contemporary Danish music.
