For more than 50 years, she has written words and melodies for our shared songbook. Anne Linnet is a voice capable of holding the greatest joy and the deepest sorrow: a versatile, embracing artist who has followed her own path throughout her career, repeatedly reaching the top of the charts, entering our hearts and inspiring communal singing on and in front of stages across Denmark.
“Mine Største Sange” is, in other words, one of autumn’s major Danish concert experiences: a unique series with Anne Linnet and the Danish Chamber Orchestra, visiting the country’s most beautiful halls with grand, rarely heard orchestral arrangements of her biggest hits and songs.
“All the songs I write have had their own time and meaning for me over many years. But at some point, they have been passed on to those who listen, taking on lives and journeys of their own. They are mine, but yours too. Having the opportunity to play them live in settings like these, with so many talented musicians, is something I look forward to sharing. There is no doubt that these concerts will be very special to me. And I hope they will be to you too,” says Anne Linnet.
She has released more than 25 albums, most recently last year’s ‘Rubiner Safirer Krystaller’, with guests including Pernille Rosendahl and rap trio Suspekt. It followed the impressive four-album release ‘Sange Til Livet’ in 2022. Her catalogue includes some of the best-selling and most influential LPs in Danish music history.
Shit & Chanel, Anne Linnet Band, Bitch Boys and Marqui de Sade: her bands have had many names. What they share is their frontwoman’s endlessly curious exploration of music. Songs such as ‘Smuk og dejlig’, ‘Barndommens Gade’, ‘Venus’, ‘Glor På Vinduer’, ‘Tusind Stykker’, ‘Jeg Ka’ Ik’ Sig’ Nej Til Dig’ and ‘Forårsdag’ portray a songwriter who embraces both pop and poetry. Anne Linnet is also known for numerous hits with artists including Sanne Salomonsen, Lis Sørensen, Søs Fenger and Thomas Helmig. Over the years she has received many prestigious awards, including the Honorary Award at the Danish Music Awards. She also holds the title of Knight of the Order of the Dannebrog.
Above all, the 11 concerts of “Anne Linnet & the Danish Chamber Orchestra: Mine Største Sange” will celebrate some of the greatest Danish songs ever: a shared tribute to the memories music gives us when we share it with one another.
